One of our local radio stations has been doing a "90's Throwback Weekend." Yesterday Brian brought the radio out onto the deck, and we went back and forth between rapping to songs we never thought we would hear again (Ice, Ice, Baby) to singing along to our favorites (The Freshmen, More Than Words), to groaning at some of the most terrible stuff (Mmm Bop, Bye Bye) and at our memories of actually liking some of the songs we would never now purposefully listen to (too embarrassing to name here). It was great.
The steak BBQ on the lawn complete with beach tennis, a shovel and pail, and bikes were a nice way to welcome summer too. The chocolate raspberry fondue and coffee afterward weren't too bad either. ;)

Spring Saturday
Lazy weekends are wonderful. We drove about five minutes past a park and some farms to a great sunny mini-golf course yesterday for lunch and a game before the Red Sox double header. The mini-golf place has its own par 3 course as well, and it's right next to a full golf club. There were lots of families on the par 3 course, and the driving range was busy, though we were the only ones at the food cart for lunch. Brian and Matt golfed with Thomas and Grace while Denise and I watched with the babies. Gabe looked very sweet in his little overalls and navy blue sun hat. It was a really nice way to spend a breezy spring afternoon and a refreshing peek into another great summer in New York.

Celebrating Mother's Day
It has been quite some time since I've taken such a long blogging break, but I haven't forgotten! I think about little things to share every day but just haven't found much time to post since Gabe's arrival, going back to work full time, and Red Sox season starting.
I especially wanted to say Happy Mother's Day, so here are some belated mother's day thoughts for all you moms out there and a photo of the flowers my boys sent me at work. Aren't they beautiful?
I received the flowers on Thursday before Mother's Day, and then on Sunday Brian and Matt made pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit salad and coffee (decaf) for Denise and I - and for the kids, of course - at our house. We enjoyed it so much that I think we decided to do it again sans-holiday.
I sent my mom a potted rose plant at work but it wasn't very thoughtful when you consider the fact that I had them delivered when she was away! I couldn't believe it when I realized it. Mom, I hope you'll forgive me! Love ya.
