It was the first time we had been to a fireworks show in some time. We did watch some fireworks from the roof of our old apartment once, when we lived on the fifth floor in the city. That was at least five years ago, though. Aside from that, Thomas had only been once before, when he was really little, and that was also to a city event. This time we drove about five minutes away and spread out some blankets and camp chairs toward the edge of a huge field. The fireworks show was definitely low budget, but we had a good time!

Here's a short video of the finale. I'm sorry it is so shaky. I was laughing at comments by the grownups and at the kids' reactions. Gabe found some explosions particularly funny!
