My Baby Is So Big!

Gabe had his first hair cut yesterday. I don't know if it was the pregnancy hormones or what, but I felt a little emotional about the whole thing. I don't remember feeling that way when Thomas got his first hair cut. Gabe was good the whole time, anyway. He made the "Oooo" face, with his lips all puckered, as he stared at himself in the mirror. I think he was a little excited. It was very cute.

Here are a couple of before pics.

And here he is after we came home yesterday.

He's looking more like Thomas now, which of course spurred me to go through some old albums and find pics of Tommy's first hair cut. First, Tommy's before pics:

And the afters:

Pretty similar!

What to do on a Beautiful Day

Why, go to the park, of course!

Just a Glimpse

Our home is still piled high with boxes, though we have certainly made clear progress. I'm not ready for any wide angles just yet, but I thought I would offer you a glimpse, just one piece at a time, so...

Welcome

...to Tommy's room:

He still has at least a couple of boxes in the garage, but each day that we open another, an old favorite is rediscovered. He has already spent countless hours re-reading old books, and yesterday we found the pirate ship. Next up: board games.

Saturday Sky

Every now and then I remember! This is the first Saturday Sky pic I've taken from our new home.

Here's what I saw when I looked down:

...complete with the big wheel.

After playing with the camera for a minute I took Gabe out front and watched Thomas and all the neighbors spray each other with spray bottles, a squirt gun, and a hose. Welcome, August.

Yum.

So much for waiting to replace our stove. We headed out to Lowe's on Monday after the pilot light went out (again) and picked out a nice, shiny new one. Of course then we had to wait for someone to come give us an estimate for the cost of installation. We should get our quote today, and then we'll decide if we can still afford the one we picked out, which is not the same as our original choice. I hope we can still get it. For how much use we get out of our stove/oven, it will be nice to have all the features we want.

All the talk of stoves this week must have spoken to my baking side, because I've been getting lots of use out of the old oven. That's not unusual for me, really, but combined with a rainy day yesterday and cooler morning today, I had lots of motivation to heat up that oven and bake something yummy.

Today: Blueberry Muffins

Yesterday: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

Later Today and Tomorrow: I'm up for suggestions!
